Rapper Fat Joe was known for being exactly that - fat.
Many rappers have used their size as part of their monicker including Big Pun and Biggie
But the 40-year-old, real name Joseph Antonio Cartagena, the Bronx native has had to lose the weight because of 'health reasons', according to reports, belied his monicker by losing a staggering 100lbs and shows off his new physique in his latest video Drop A Body
Joe has always been heavy and caught a lot of criticism from more chiselled rappers like 50 Cent who had made fun of his large midsection.
Joe says that Oprah inspired him to lose the weight, and he wantsd to keep it off for good, despite other times that he has tried and failed to keep the weight off, at one time, weighing in 400 pounds. He lost the weight by taking carbohydrates and fried foods out of his diet and working out every day.
'What really scares me the most is that I really love to eat. Me being Puerto Rican and not eating rice and beans - it's hard,' he shared.
Fat Joe has worked with artists like Jennifer Lopez on her track Feelin' So Good, Ashanti and Ja Rule on the 2002 hit What's Love and collaborations with R. Kelly.
