Tuesday, April 20, 2010 , Posted by HTMZ.COM at 5:36 PM

The Jackson family has reached a deal with Cirque du Soleil to produce a show based on the music and dance of the late great Michael Jackson. The shows are set to premier in late 2011, with the Jackson family estate owning 50% of each project, and will also receive royalties for the intellectual property used in the show.

Guy Laliberte, the founder of Cirque du Soleil said "Michael Jackson is the King of Pop and an all-time phenomenal artist, both timeless and contemporary". He also promises that the show will be Jackson worthy, and unique from any other show they've done.

This isn't unfamiliar ground to the Cirque crew, in the past they have done shows in tribute to Elvis and the Beatles.

We're excited, Are you?
