Cameron Douglas, the 31 year old son of actor Michael Douglas, was sentenced to 5 years in prison with another 5 years of supervised release. He was facing up to 10 years on charges stemming from his arrest last summer from a federal investigation. The judge said this stint is probably Douglas's last real chance to do the right thing and stay clean.

While in court Douglas said he was sober for the first time in his adult life, and is looking forward to the opportunity to stay clean. The judge received many letters on Cameron's behalf, most notably a 5 page letter written by his father. Both of Cameron's parents identified the fact that they had failed their son over the years.

Because Douglas refused to stop using his family cut him off from their fortune and this is when he turned to selling crystal meth.
