Girl Kept As Sex Slave

Monday, May 2, 2011 , Posted by HTMZ.COM at 6:56 AM

An 11-year-old girl today revealed her horrific ordeal at the hands of paedophiles, after being taken from her home and kept as a sex slave by six men.

The fifth grader, who vanished seven months ago for five days, was lured from her Bronx home before allegedly being pimped out to various different men at a flat in New York City.

In a chilling example of just how vulnerable children can be to sex traffickers in the city, the girl, whose name has been withheld, is said to have been befriended by a 30-year-old man outside her home when she was just ten.

After he built up her trust, the man is then said to have kidnapped her and kept her as a sex slave at his lower East Side apartment.

'One man gave me $700, another gave me $1,000 and another gave me $500," the girl said. 'Maybe there were five or six men, in all.'

The girl managed to escape after summoning the courage to call her grandmother while her captors slept in the next-door room.

When Yolanda Agostini picked up, there was silence on the other end of the line, but she says she knew immediately who was calling.

'Talk to me,' she bagged. 'If it's you, please tell me where you are.'

After 20 minutes, the girl said: 'Mommy, it's me. They're hurting me. Please, I need you ... I'm in a house, I don't know where.'

After Agostini told the girl to 'get out', she crept out of the apartment without waking her kidnappers.

Police found her and doctors at Jacobi Medical Center confirmed that she had been raped.

The girl, who has brown-eyes and is just five-foot-four foot tall, is now in full-time treatment at a clinic in Westchester and only comes home at weekends.

Speaking from her family's living room in a north east Bronx housing project, the girl told the New York Daily News: 'I want them [the captors] to go through pain 24 hours a day.

'I want someone to make them do stuff the way they made me do stuff...I want them to go through what I went through. I think about nothing but anger.'

The 11-year-old lives with two sisters under Agostini's care because her mother was convicted for drug offences and her father lives in Florida.

'One man gave me $700, another gave me $1,000 and another gave me $500. Maybe there were five or six men in all.'

She says she met 30-year Dawud McKelvin after she was sent to a foster home in Hunts Point in August 2009 when Agostini, 48, was under investigation for drugs charges, which were later dropped.

'The [foster parent] let her sit on the front of the building by herself and that's how she met him,' Agostini said. He was walking by and approached her.'

The sisters returned to Agostini in December 2009 but by then the girl, then just ten-years-old, was secretly meeting up with McKelvin.

The relationship is said to have continued until September 14 last year, when she did not return home from school.

The girl says she was convinced to leave with him in his car that day. 'He called me the day before and asked me if I wanted to come live with him,' she said.

She was taken to an apartment on West 110th St. in Manhattan, where she was raped several times by McKelvin's cousin, Lee McKelvin, 37, according to court papers.

The girl claims she was then taken to the lower East Side, where she was held by a man named Frankie and two women named Tiny and Jenna.

By then, police had caught Dawud McKelvin, who had sent explicit photos of himself to the girl's cell phone.

He denied knowing the girl's whereabouts but was charged with aggravated harassment.

After the girl escaped, McKelvin was indicted on charges of rape and predatory sexual assault against a child and other crimes.

His lawyer, Jodi Morales, did not return calls for comment.

The girl said it was important other young girls learned from her ordeal.

'If something bad is happening, open your mouth,' she said. 'Tell your mum. Don't be scared. Don't ever be scared.'

Agostini added: 'The worst thoughts go through your mind. I asked God to hold her, protect her. So many things I promised God for her return.

'He [the captor] threatened her, told her that if she ever told us about him he would kill me, her mother and her siblings. He had her manipulated very well. He bent her mind.'

Last year, the NYPD reported 6,544 cases of missing children. Joe Mazzilli, a private investigator and former NYPD detective, says almost half of missing children cases involve pornography or prostitution.

He said: 'There are very few cases that involve someone as young as 10 or 11 years old. But on the flip side, once they hit 13, there are thousands of cases like that. It's so sad.'

Brian Conroy, chief of the NYPD's vice enforcement division, added: 'These girls are vulnerable. You can't help but feel compassion. There are other girls out there in similar straits. We have to find them.'
