The fire spread through a block in Brooklyn, New York, with 25 fire fighters and 11 civilians treated for minor injuries. Five of the civilians were taken to hospital and six refused treatment. Almost 200 fire fighters from 44 units attended the ‘five-alarm’ category blaze and spent several hours extinguishing it after high winds made it tough to keep flames under control.
