After his annus horribilis in 2010, Tiger Woods must have been hoping that the new year would tee off to a more positive start.

But the former World No.1 was in hot water again today after he was fined by the European Tour for spitting during the final round of the Dubai Desert Classic.

The incident occurred Sunday on the 12th green, after the No.3 ranked player missed a par putt on his way to a three-over 75.
