An ATF agent was shot in Dallas early Thursday morning while attempting to serve federal warrants.

The ATF agents, along with assistance from the DEA and Dallas Police Department, were serving search and federal arrest warrants at a home on the 900 block of Hannah Way in east Dallas when someone inside the home fired about five rounds, the ATF said.

A male ATF agent was struck twice and was transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas in an unknown condition.

There was no return fire by law enforcement.

A short standoff with the gunman ensued, but he was arrested a short time later, the ATF said.
