Denver Nugget’s guard, J.R. Smith was arrested by South Beach Police yesterday for operating a scooter without a valid driver’s license. Yes, you read that right. Scootering without a license.
This isn’t the 6’6 Nugget’s first brush with the law; Smith’s been involved in two car accidents with teammates in the last five years.
Maybe that’s why he was flying solo on the scooter?
Officers didn’t arrest Smith, but the 25-year-old signed a “notice to appear” and will be notified of his court date at a later time.
Does anyone else feel like this SBPD traffic stop may have been a misallocation of resources?
