Today, Steve Jobs has died of pancreatic cancer. At the age of 56, Steve may have died young, but he was hands down the most influential innovator of the 90s and beyond.  Apple announced his death on Wednesday evening. They quote, "Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple."

Rapper T.I. has been released from an Arkansas prison -- and is on his way to either a community living facility or home confinement ... TMZ has learned.

T.I. was sentenced to 11 months behind bars after his drug possession arrest on the Sunset Strip back in September 2010 -- an arrest that caused law enforcement officials to revoke his probation stemming from a federal gun conviction back in 2009.

Chris Burke, spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, tells us T.I. was released at 7:29 AM local time ... and is "in transit" to begin the next leg of his sentence. 

T.I. checked into prison on November 1, 2010 -- and he was originally scheduled to be released on September 29.

During an interview with Univision, Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya said he thought about suicide and continues to attend rehab because of his additictions to drugs and alcohol. The network provided an translated transcript of the interview. De La Hoya has cleaned up his life, staying sober for the last three months and joined Alcoholics Anonymous. De La Hoya retired in 2009 after a 16-year career.

"Within couple of years, just thinking if my life was even worth it. I don't have the strength, I don't have the courage to take my own life but I was thinking about it," De La Hoya said.

"There were drugs, my drug of choice was cocaine and alcohol, hmm. Cocaine was recent. The last 2 years, last 2 1/2 years and I depended more in the alcohol than the cocaine," De La Hoya said. "It took me to a place where I felt safe, it took me to a place where I felt as if nobody can say anything to me, it took me to a place where I just can reach out and grab my mom."

He also discussed his unfaithful incidents which led to a separation with his wife. The two are back together.

"We are obviously not talking a Tiger Woods here, but I was unfaithful," De La Hoya said.

Passing the time relaxing on the front porch of his Massachusetts home, Obama Onyango looked to neighbours as if he was living the American dream.
But the 67-year-old long lost uncle of President Barack Obama was last week arrested for drunk-driving and found to be living in the U.S. illegally.
Now, MailOnline can reveal how the man the President called 'Uncle Omar' had been living in a nice house, hosted popular backyard barbecues and worked at a local liquor store.
Neighbours said that Onyango's pale yellow house in leafy Framingham, a suburb of Boston, was always bustling with people.
The illegal immigrant, who they described as 'neighborly' and 'cordial', would spend time on his front porch, adorned with a welcome mat and flower pots, greeting neighbors.
But Onyango's illegal residence in the U.S., since what is believed to be the 1960s, was uncovered last week when he was arrested for drunk driving.
He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and held under a longstanding warrant for his deportation.
Neighbors said they had no idea that the President's uncle was living in their neighborhood.

Teen heart-throb Justin Bieber was involved in a prang today after crashing his Ferrari.
The 17-year-old star bumped into a Honda car - but  neither drivers were injured in the minor collision, LAPD reports.
Officer Gregory Baek of Los Angeles Police confirmed the incident happened yesterday in the Studio City area of the city.

The officer added that there was no visible damage to Bieber's car or the Honda Civic.
It wouldn't be the first time Justin's taste in expensive cars has attracted attention.
Only a month ago the YouTube star was pulled over by police while driving his singer friend Sean Kingston's Rolls Royce convertible around South Beach, Miami.

Disgraced American football star Tiki Barber has proposed to his girlfriend of two years, following sensational claims he left his then-pregnant wife for her.
The ex-Giants star proposed to 24-year-old Traci Lynn Johnson over the weekend, according to his agent.
Johnson is the former NBC intern for whom Barber, 36, reportedly left his wife Ginny Cha in 2009 when she was pregnant with their twins.

It was an eventful night on round two of America's Got Talent semi-finals, between Piers Morgan getting a little too eager on the buzzer and a near-disaster during gymnastics group Gymkana's act.
The talented troupe from Maryland had the judges on their feet, gasping in horror after a ring of fire came crashing down on top of one of the performers.
The dance team started out well with a stunning and perfectly timed routine, but failed to impress Piers, who was booed for buzzing out the group early on in the act.

Then near-disaster struck, when one of the gymnasts caught the edge of the ring of fire, bringing the flames down on top of him as he crash-landed on the floor.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – It was supposed to be a welcome back to school fundraising party for a local charity put on by the Rams Pointe Apartments, but once their e-vite got on Facebook it took on a life of its own through social media.

“The power of Facebook was definitely shown at the last party because it was ridiculous how many people actually showed up,” said student Wayne Campbell, who lives at the apartment complex. “It was just pure chaos.”

As New York gears up for the poignant tenth anniversary of 9/11, this footage, taken by rescue workers, shows the eerie scenes in the basements beneath the wrecked skyscrapers. Workers from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) spent eight months documenting the scene in lower Manhattan, as they searched the six stories beneath the complex.

The Pentagon has been evacuated, CNN's Barbara Starr reports. "When the building began shaking rather violently, hundreds of people began streaming out," she said, because many people thought that the building was under attack. Starr was standing in the Pentagon's press office when the roof started to shake.
Twitter traffic suggests the quake was felt all over the East Coast.
In Philadelphia, HunterPence3 tweeted, "Wow Earthquake just shook the entire locker room!"
In Cleveland, "tribeinsider" wrote "I'm no expert but i think we just had an earthquake here."
And even in Toronto, Canada, tweets said that the shaking could be felt for minutes.

Fulla Nayak, a resident of Kanarpur village in the coastal district of Kendrapada, died of old age complications Saturday.

According to her 72-year-old grandson, Fulla was 125. But as per a voter photo identity card issued by the government in 1995 she was 120 years.

The grand old woman lived in a small mud-walled thatched house in Kanarpur, about 25 km from the district headquarters. She is survived by two of her four daughters and around two dozen relatives.

Her eldest daughter, Jamuna, 92, lives in the same village. Her husband died at the age of 50.

Fulla was in the news when her grandson Narayan Nayak claimed last week that she could be the oldest woman living in the world. He had said that he would write to the Guinness book authorities to record the claim.

Fulla was known for her love of smoking ganja and cigars and palm juice. She also loved steaming hot tea.

She had never suffered any debilitating ailment throughout her life. Except for her weak eyesight, Fulla maintained good health and used to walk without support.
